TENNESSEE CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN FISHERIES SOCIETY ANNOUNCEMENT OF ANNUAL MEETING 2009 |
| The Tennessee Chapter of the American Fisheries Society will meet at Montgomery Bell State Park on March 3 and 4, 2009. The program will consist of technical sessions with a business meeting and social on the night of the 3rd. The meeting will start around noon (Central Time) on the 3rd and adjourn by noon on the 4th. There might be a short workshop from 10 a.m. to noon on the 3rd; please look for more information to follow.
Program: We are considering papers on all aquatic resource topics. Each speaker will have 15 minutes to present, and 5 minutes for questions. Send abstracts (less than 250 words) to Hayden Mattingly HMattingly@tntech.edu by January 15, 2009. If you are a student and you would like to have your paper judged, then indicate that in the email. We will provide equipment to display Powerpoint presentations. Location: Montgomery Bell State Park Inn, 1000 Hotel Avenue, Burns, TN 37029 (see http://www.tennessee.gov/environment/parks/MontgomeryBell . Call for reservations at 1-800-250-8610, tell them you are with TN AFS, or you can call the inn directly at (615) 797-3101. That should get you a room rate of $68 per night (plus tax) for one or two adults per room. There will be $6 charge for each additional person beyond two. There are also cabins available. Smoking is prohibited in all rooms and cabins. Make your reservations by January 15, 2009, to get the meeting lodging rate. Rooms will be released to the general public after January 15th.
