2003 Tennessee-Arkansas Chapters Joint Annual Meeting
March 4-6, Jackson Tennessee
The Tennessee Chapter met jointly with the Arkansas Chapter at the Garden Plaza Hotel
in Jackson, TN March 4-6, 2003. Thirty seven papers were given over the meeting
including presentations from students and fisheries professionals of both states.
Fred Harris, president of the parent society, also took time out of his busy schedule
to attend the meeting.
Food and festivities were provided both evenings of the meeting and the chapters
raised money at their respective auctions. A fine time was had by all in attendance.
Incoming officers were elected or recognized during the Tennessee Chapter business meeting.
The following will serve on the Chapter's executive committee during 2003-04: Tim Churchill
(TWRA) president, Ed Scott (TVA) president-elect, Gary Hickman (TVA) past-presient, and
Amy Wales (TVA) secretary-treasurer. The Chapter also made awards for Best Student
Paper (George Scholten, Kevin Hoffman), Outstanding Fisheries Scientist (Chris Coco),
Friend of Fisheries (Jimmy Holt), and Lifetime Achievement Award (Fred Heitman).
