Second Call For Papers:
Presentations, including posters, on all aquatic resource topics will be considered. Each speaker will have 15 minutes to present, and 5 minutes for questions. Send abstracts (250 maximum) to Mike Bramlett (Mike.Bramlett@tn.gov) by January 29, 2012. If you are a student and would like to have your presentation judged for Best Student Paper, indicate so in your email. Equipment to display powerpoint presentations will be provided.
2012 Tennessee Chapter Annual Meeting Summary:
Mark your calendars and plan to attend the 2012 annual meeting of the Tennessee Chapter AFS on March 13 and 14, 2012 at Fall Creek Falls State Park in Pikeville, TN.
The program consists of technical sessions with a business meeting and social/banquet on the night of the 13th. The meeting will begin about noon (Central Standard Time) on March 13 and adjourn by noon on the 14th.
A block of 45 rooms has been reserved at a group rate of $68/night (plus tax) for one or two adults per room. You must make your reservations (800-250-8610) by January 27, 2012 to get the meeting rate. Rooms will be released to the general public after January 27. Nominations and Awards:
The Tennessee Chapter of the American Fisheries Society Nomination and Awards Committee is solociting nominations for the following awards:
- Lifetime Achievement Award
- Outstanding Fisheries Scientist
- Service Award
- Friends of Fisheries Award
Criteria for the first three awards are:
Lifetime Achievement Award - Nominees should either be retired or within five years of retirement and have had a long history of significant contributions.
Outstanding Fisheries Scientist - To be bestowed on biologists in ther early to mid career for making significant contributions of several years or in the past year.
Service Award - To be bestowed on individuals that serves as a Chapter officer for more than five years or served the Chapter s a chair of a long-standing Chapter committee for more than five years
Please submit all nominations to Hayden Mattingly (HMattingly@tntech.edu) by January 20, 2012.
